Introduction
The global market sees the growing demand for Interior Designers who have expertise both in the architectural layout of spaces and in the design of furnishing accessories to optimize the relationship between space, objects and people.
The Triennale course in Interior and Furniture Design forms professional figures capable of managing a design project, typically made up of different fields including manufacturing, marketing, graphics and technical aspects. The course transforms students into "product designers" who are experts in furnishing, able to carry out coordination activities and have an active part in the product design process, intervening in different phases of the industrial process.

Title released - The course is recognized by MIUR and is equated to the degree degrees awarded by the Universities.
Context - The designer of the third millennium is a professional capable of measuring both with craftsmanship and with new technologies. Luxury markets make production chains more and more capable of providing customization. The recent movement of makers has triggered the interaction between new open-source technologies and self-production processes, facilitating the drive for innovation.
Methodology and structure - The training path promotes the development of individual sensitivity towards design and acquisition of a multidisciplinary culture that combines practical and theoretical aspects.
The program allows to develop a theoretical and practical knowledge of the industrial system and focuses on the study of technological tools, productive processes and materials. Students also learn the value system that characterizes companies presently on the market.
The course provides a specific historical and cultural insight into the production processes of Italian craftsmanship, with an analysis of its economic impact on small and medium-sized local businesses and on the international luxury market. The experience of the students is enhanced by the close contact with the textile industry in Tuscany, the cradle of Italian craftsmanship, thanks to practical workshops and company visits.
Students learn to use the techniques and tools related to the formal and functional representation of the product, from design to technical design, to the production of three-dimensional models, exploring digital art, visual arts and their paradigms, in order to develop a Its own artistic language.
Students also learn the design methodologies, product distribution systems, and marketing strategies by acquiring scientific knowledge of materials and prototyping techniques. The program is also focused on the study of the technology in the chain and on those of the manufacturing processes, thus providing a complete overview of the production chain of Made in Italy.

Curriculum
Methodology and structure
The methodology alternate frontal lectures and lab activity through individual or multidisciplinary team projects. The project activity, which is both theoretical and technical is developed in close collaboration with professors and asserted professionals of the industry.
The program develops theoretical and practical knowledge of domestic and living spaces, focusing on technological tools, production processes, and materials. A proper understanding of the company's values, according to the contemporary market, is required.
The course has a specific focus on the craftsmanship process of Italian production from a cultural and historical perspective, analyzing the subsequent economic impact on Italian small-medium enterprises and for the international luxury market.
Students learn tools and techniques related to the formal and functional representation of the product from freehand drawing to technical design, up to the production of three-dimensional models of the product, exploring the digital image, visual works, and perceptive paradigms to develop artistic languages.
Students also learn the project methodologies, product distribution, and marketing strategies and they get deep in materials and prototyping techniques. Moreover, the program focuses on supply-chain technologies and technological manufacturing processing, giving a complete overview of the Made in Italy production chain.

Program Outcome
The global market has a growing demand for evolved Interior Designers with competences both in the architectural composition of a space and in the design of furniture elements, in order to organise and improve the relation among space, objects and people.
The three-year course in Interior and Furniture Design trains professionals able to participate in the whole design process: from the first sketches to the final project. The goal is training The course trains Interior Designers specialised in furniture, who are able both to manage and carry out a project focused on the organisation of spaces and interior decoration, with a design-oriented attitude.
Title – The First Level Academic Diploma is recognized by MIUR (Ministry for Education, University and Research) and equated with the Bachelor’s Degree issued by Universities.
