Jobs in public and nonprofit administration
The nonprofit sector represents over 10% of the American labor force, employing more than 12.5 million workers (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2019). From hospitals to schools to churches and civic organizations, the nonprofits represent the third largest workforce behind retail and manufacturing. Indiana nonprofits employ over 230,000 people and generate over $45 billion in annual revenues. Hoosiers donate about $3 billion to charity every year (3.34% of household income). A career in the nonprofit sector allows you to make a positive difference in your community while earning a competitive wage.
