Sustainability has many challenges and is something that affects all individuals and organisations across the globe. We are faced with an overwhelming demand to take action and preserve our planet and natural resources for future generations. The UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which outline 17 key focus areas, were adopted by all Member States in 2015 and provide a roadmap to achieving a “better and more sustainable future for all” by 2030. The SDGs seek to balance out the needs of nations to develop their societies against the concerns for the natural world which, perhaps, previous episodes of resource exploitation have overlooked.
