Our foundation year in business management will help you assess your strengths and confirm your specialist area of interest. Throughout the first year of this four-year course, you will develop the skills and confidence to be able to progress on to our BSc Business Management programme.

Curriculum
Units
The units are designed to enable you to build your academic practice incrementally throughout the programme. The programme will enable you to develop the range of skills needed in the foundation of business and management with a particular focus on academic writing, innovative thinking, communication skills and research practice.
Semester 1
In semester one, you will be introduced to academic development across two units:
- Critical thinking and research - this will underpin your entire programme and build the foundations for your academic practice
- Writing and communication - you will choose your written assessment task and be taught two introductory units in introduced to Business Management.
You will explore everything from basic finance to HR and marketing, all of which add value to management. You will also learn about the competitive global landscape and how businesses function within it.
Semester 2
By semester two, you will develop the professional skills to build your entrepreneurial mindset and work on an inquiry-based learning project.
