Community and Justice Studies students learn about systems of power and inequality, engage with their communities, and graduate ready to build a more just and egalitarian world. Students explore the meaning and power of community by working with local non-profits, government agencies, and grassroots organizations to address real-world issues, from systemic racism to the lack of affordable housing. Students learn about histories of oppression and exclusion in order to imagine a more equitable world where everyone can participate and thrive in their community. -

The B.A. in Faith, Ethics, and Justice (previously named B.A. in Theology) provides a multifaceted approach to exploring the Christian faith, the human experience, and the challenges of pursuing a more humane and just society. Whatever your background, you will find a place in this program to explore these questions in a fresh, open, and inviting way. -

Students in the Social Justice and Human Rights programs examine a wide variety of oppressions such as racism, sexism, heterosexism, anti-immigrant oppression, ableism, economic injustice, animal exploitation, and environmental injustice, as well as related denials of human rights, such as human trafficking, settler colonialism, mass incarceration, use of sweatshop and child labor, unequal access to education, and voter disenfranchisement. -
