The world outside the United States is an endlessly colorful array of complicated issues, deep history, and profound art that opens your eyes to new possibilities. In Nova Southeastern University’s B.A. in International Studies program, you’ll choose a foreign language and a region of the world to explore in-depth. And you’ll research legal systems, literature, folklore, art, and cultural traditions that contrast with and illuminate the U.S. experience.

Other Requirements
The Bachelor of Arts degree requires at least 24 credits of coursework from the following disciplines: ARTS, DANC, FILM, HIST, HUMN, LITR, MUSC, PHIL, and THEA, as well as an intermediate degree of competency in a foreign language (generally, a minimum of 6 credits or another demonstration of competency).
Experiential Learning/Internships
As an International Studies student, you’ll have the opportunity to enhance your chosen area of study by pursuing a study abroad experience and through advanced language courses. International Travel Study is a requirement for this major and is an excellent way for you to gain real-world experience. Additionally, you’ll have opportunities to participate in internships and volunteer work in the community that allow you to explore your interests or practice a foreign language.
NSU students also benefit from rewarding internships on-campus at the Halmos College of Arts and Sciences’ Center for the Humanities.
